SHORT BIO
Gabriel Gonçalves Borges is a Master's student in Chemistry at São Paulo State University (UNESP), Brazil. His research focuses on the development of nanostructured electrocatalysts and photoelectrocatalysts for sustainable energy conversion and environmental remediation.
His work involves the synthesis and characterization of advanced electrode materials for hydrogen production through water electrolysis and electrochemical technologies for wastewater treatment. His current research investigates the fabrication of porous nickel electrodes and their functionalization with graphene-based materials through Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) to improve catalytic performance, charge transfer, and stability toward the Hydrogen Evolution Reaction (HER).
Currently, Gabriel is a Visiting Research Scholar at Texas Tech University (TTU), where he is working on the development of hybrid electrode materials for electrochemical energy applications.
