Wilfredo J. Cardona Vélez, PH.D.

Post-Doctoral Research Associate

Wilfredo J. Cardona Vélez is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate that  joined the CETI Lab and with CASFER’s Research group at TTU in February 2023. He is currently working on optimization of electrical distillation for ammonia recovery and water purification. Also, he implements electrochemical surface analysis for the ammonia recovery application. Wilifredo has background in Chemical Engineering (B.S.) and Manufacturing Engineering (M.E.), and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from University of Puerto Rico- Rio Piedras Campus, where he focused on designing a laboratory scale prototype of continuous process for water purification and ammonia removal from wastewater in close environment system.
Among his research interests are wastewater treatment and water recovery, continuous process manufacturing, chemical process design, electrochemical process analysis with application in manufacturing.
